iPhone 15 Plus Connectivity Issues on RBKE963B (Orbi 960 Series)

Hi all,

We currently have a guest staying with us who is using an iPhone 15 Plus, and they’re experiencing significant connectivity issues on our Orbi RBKE963B system. The link speed fluctuates wildly—from around 150Mbps down to as low as 2Mbps—and in some cases, the connection drops entirely.

Interestingly, no other devices on the network (including other Apple products) are having any issues. As a temporary workaround, I’ve moved the guest’s device to the IoT network and configured that network to operate on 5GHz only with WPA2. This has helped stabilize the connection somewhat.

After reading through the forums, I’ve noticed that some of the newer Orbi WiFi 7 systems have recently received firmware updates that reportedly address similar issues with newer iPhones.

Regards,

Liam

What FW is on the AXE system?

What iOS is on the iphone?

Some have reported that Apple and Orbi may have odd issues with mixed mode WPA settings. Others mentioned setting WPA3 only.

All this seems to be between Apple and NG. Not much we can do here. I just took my 963 off line yesterday after 31 days of solid up time and operation. However I don't have any newer gen Apple phones. 12 Pro Max has been working great.

      Hi Furry,

      Thanks for your response:

What FW is on the AXE system: 7.2.7.15 - Factory reset and setup from scratch was performed.

What iOS is on the iphone: 18.5

      Regards,

      Liam

Seems like neew generation devices like Android and Apple are having issues with orbi systems these days. NG is aware and seems to be working on it.

Other issues are IPv6 on this version as well. Not sure if you have that enabled or not or need it. If you use IPv6 then it's recommended to revert FW back to v.21 or v.31 as IPv6 works on those versions. We've made NG aware of this.
