No internet through Orbi when modem set to bridge mode.

Modem:  Teltonika RUTX11 (AT&T)

Orbi Mesh WiFi 6 System - AX4200  (RBK752)

Internet accessible through modem, and through Orbi when modem not set to bridge. But this configuration produces noticeable performance issues (double NAT?).

Have placed RUTX11 in bridge mode, rebooted with Orbi connected -- Orbi connects to modem, but no internet. Connecting directly to modem (without Orbi) confirms modem does have internet access.

RUTX11 in bridge mode can operate without specified MAC address (accepts "first inline') or with specified MAC -- have tried both settings; can connect to internet without Orbi, but cannot connect to internet through Orbi, either with or without MAC specified.

Since Orbi was originally installed with modem not set to bridge, do I need to factory reset Orbi in order for it to work properly with new modem setting?  or is there something else I'm missing?

      Orbi is in router mode.

Web browsing noticeably compromised for certain sites -- pages slow to load, certain applications fail.  Noticeable difference with and without connection through Orbi.

What sort of performance issues?  Double NAT seriously interferes with specific applications, but is invisible for 'ordinary web use' (email, web browsing, streaming video, Zoom meetings, etc.)

  • After setting Bridge mode on the modem and applying that change, power OFF the modem and RBR for 1 minute then back ON with the modem first then RBR about 1 minute later.

Set modem to bridge mode. Confirmed internet access via direct ethernet connection to modem.

      Powered off modem and Orbi.

Powered on modem -- waited 3 minutes for it to reboot.

Powered on Orbi -- waited for it to reboot.

      No internet.

(Have done this 3-4 times now over the past several days, same result.)

ISP (AT&T Reseller) says "Passthrough" requires full factory reset to undo (meaning physical access to the modem, which is mounted at 3-story peak); "Bridge" can be undone via ethernet access to modem.

I've not been able to confirm that in any Teltonika documentation -- nor have I found any other explanation of the difference.

I would contact your ISP and have them help you with this. There maybe some user account or PPPoE account information needed on the RBR to make it work when the ISP modem is in bridge mode.
