One Laptop Won’t Connect to Network when RBS750 is Plugged In
I’ve had the same set up for ~2years with one RBR750 and 2 RBS750s.
Monday morning one Dell laptop wouldn’t connect to the internet. It connected to the wifi network but with the description “No Internet, Secured” all other devices (~20 in total) remained connected with no issues.
After extensive troubleshooting with professional IT networking MSP employees, all to no avail, we stumbled over that as soon as one of the satellites the internet clicked back on on the Dell (switched from “No Internet, Secured” to “Connected, secured” and internet was fully functional.
I’ve tried factory resetting that satellite, but it doesn’t seem to matter.
Both satellites are running V4.6.11.1 and the RBR750 is running V4.6.9.11.
Any ideas? I am completely stumped.
After a bunch of trial and error the lack of internet to the Dell didn’t seem to be related to one of the specific satellites. I could reset or disconnect one or the other satellite and the internet would instantly “click on” on the Dell, but as soon as I rebooted it was gone. I tried resetting the devices, moved them around, tried disconnecting devices, assigning a specific IP address to the laptop etc… nothing seemed to solve it.
Eventually, I just factory reset the RBR750 and both RBS750s, set the whole system up as new with a new SSID, and that seems to have done the trick. Everything has been working for about 12 hours now.Who knows….

FWIW the wifi driver on the Dell is AX201 160MHz. But none of the variables have changed recently to my knowledge (i.e. the Orbi firmware or the Dell driver).

Sounds like something wrong with this one device. Might try a different adapter.
Something to contact the Mfr of this PC about.

Its specific to the one satellite?
If so, I'd try reinstalling the firmware to that satellite to see if maybe something was corrupt with it.
Best option would be the manual firmware update process on that satellite. (not the auto).
Just power off the working satellite to ensure you're not installing it to the wrong one.

There any big differences between the prior SSID name you had been using and this new one?
Glad you got it working. Be sure to save off a back up configuration to file for safe keeping. Saves time if a reset is needed.
