Orbi RBK850 - Devices randomly disconnect and losing internet, RBS no longer connects Flashing White

Hi,

I am reaching out as I have been reading through the community pages and looks like you have found the solution to my problem.

I have a RBR850 setup, with the router and satellite. I work from home and lately WiFi experience has been horrible, my laptop as well as my wifes' connected to the orbi SSID I have, but no internet service.. However, my phone works fine.. but my wife's phone doesn't..

I have my work laptop wired to the RBR and works fine.

Referencing this thread: https://community.netgear.com/t5/Orbi-App/RBR850-We-can-t-find-your-Orbi/m-p/2224751#M5013

Checking this page: http://orbilogin.net/debug.htm These were the results, I had prior to some experimenting:

Basic Information
Firmware Version: V4.6.8.2_2.1.9

dumaos: v3.0.410

seal: v2.1.5.37-0

seal_services: v2.1.5.12-0

armor-bd: v2.2.100.3

spc-circle: v3.25.0.2

CPU Load: 9.60%

Memory Usage(Used/Total): 308 MB/874 MB

System Uptime: 0 days 08:06:05

I decided to then update my RBR to firmware version V4.6.3.16 and all devices connect fine and have internet access.. seems like downgrading it made it more stable.

My RBS now however, and nowhere to be found within the mesh.. I had factory reset it, plugged an ethernet cable from RBS to RBR and was then able to at least access the GUI of it, my intention was to update it to the same firmware as my RBR (V4.6.3.16), but looking at the software page from netgear the latest RBS available is V4.6.3.9 (https://www.netgear.com/support/product/RBS850?_ga=2.95955483.620244829.1654081722-2121338171.165212...) - which is what I updated it to...

In hopes that this would fix the issue.. it only made it worse.. RBS keeps showing a flashing white indicator light and I can't even access its GUI anymore.. tried factory resetting and no luck..

Please advise what stable firmware version should I be running on both RBR and RBS to be able to have all my devices connect to the mesh and access the internet as well as how to be able to add the RBS into the mesh.. since now it's nowhere to be found and I can't even access its GUI..

I am using Netgear Nighthawk CM2000.

Let me know if any other information is required.

Thank You

Regards,

  • Update, I was able to factory reset and update my RBR to firmware version V4.6.8.2.. it now shows up on the orbi management tool, but displaying "disconnected"

Can someone please advise what STABLE version on the RBK850 mesh we should be using? Looks like my RBR has been stable running version V4.6.3.16_2.0.51... but then the satellite can't be part of the mesh..

Quite frankly I am VERY disappointed with this expensive mesh system and am at the point of throwing all out and go about giving netgea horrible reviews for such a trash system.

Tried opening a case with them, it's been 2 days and no one has contacted me.

      What shows as disconnected?

There a screen capture of what your seeing?

Make sure the RBS are on same version of FW as the RBR.

Orbi satellite did show as disconnected on my Management GUI - attached devices section.

Current state: Factory reset, I have the satellite hard-wired into my RBR, pulls IP 192.168.1.8. I have a constant ping running to it upon boot, I get replies. I try to access its GUI to check firmware version and possibly update it. Looks like WEB GUI gets blocked and then device becomes unreachable through ping and I can never access the Satellite's GUI.

Picture of what it looks like in the Orbi Web Management attached.

        Thanks
