Orbi RBR350 ethernet not working with wifi OK

Model RBR350 Firmware V4.4.0.10_2.10.63

Successfully set up with (PPoE) VLan and wifi performance is as good as native internet connection.

But i cannot get hardwire ethernet connection to work at all. (appeared to work for a very short time at initial startup)

In some cases (on PC) just plugging in the ethernet cable will stop all connections, including wifi.

Diganostics on the connection from windows does not find a problem.

On the surface is looks like those devices with both ethernet and wifi connections will not work. (PC, Laptop, satellite box)

The same connection path (via switch) to a NAS is OK

Looks similar to post (Orbi rbr350 connected using wifi but wont connect wired) from July this year.

Was a new version of the firmware made avialable?

  • Further update on this issue.

i have just received a Beta firmware update for trial.

Looks to have fixed the problem, all working  as expected now.

Hi,  have just done a full reset and setup.

      Problem is still there.

Also checked firmware versions - all up to date.

I commend you contact NG support and ask for help and information regarding this. Ask about an RMA. Seems that the RBR maybe faulty and needs replaced.

  • Just wanting to post here saying I had the same problem almost 2 months ago now, found this post straight away and it's taken that almost 2 months (including my original ticket being closed after they said they'd get back to me with the workaround) to finally get the beta firmware sent to me which fixed the problem instantly. As a note to netgear support, it may pay to have this as your first point since it's a known problem with this model, especially when the user asks specifically for the firmware when they know it exists, or just take it out of beta since the most recent (broken) firmware was released well over 6 months ago.

Would you be able to email me the beta please? My hardware is in warranty but apparently my complimentary support is outdated so I can't contact Netgear to get it. Thanks
