Orbi rbr350 network not connecting to LG G3 Tv
Hi,
I’m having an issue connecting my G3 TV to my network - both by Ethernet or WIFI.
When I connect via an Ethernet cable to a satellite (or the orbi base - same result) the error message is “no internet via Ethernet”. The device shows up as connected in the app, yet when I disable its connection it then shows as “connected to the internet”, however when I then attempt to use it the error is “blocked by access control” - which is to be expected.
The same process also follows when attempting to connect to the orbi wifi network (it finds the network easily with full signal strength), though the tv will connect via hotspot to my iPhone via which I can access internet.
I have updated firmware on both the tv and the Orbi, and tried all manner of resets (both TV and Orbi), and all other devices in the household are working fine (including when I use an Ethernet cable to a laptop exactly as I would connect the tv).
Any ideas?

- So, an update (with a happy ending!)
LG were to send a small goods electrician out (which I later found out would have been at my cost unless they’d found a hardware problem). On discussion with them, it was clear that it was outside of their wheelhouse so they asked me to put everything in writing so they could forward it to LG again.
LG conveniently ignored the Ethernet issue, but gave a number of directions to try to fix the WIFI problem. The solution which worked was to reset the DNS server to 8.8.8.8
I don’t know what this does (any info would be appreciated), but I am now able to use the pretty glass screen on the wall as a television!!

Please provide a bit more information:
- How is this Orbi system managed?
- Using the Orbi 'app' only?
- Using the Orbi web management interface? (http://orbilogin.net )
- Is Smart Parental Controls (SPC) enabled on this system?
- If using the web interface, is Access Control enabled on the router?
Thanks
- DavidFHobAspirantHey, thanks for the reply.
I usually use the app, but I have been trying adjustments in the online portal (most of which are just stabs in the dark) - though I am able to see that it isnt blocked on access control (except when I choose to). Access control is enabled (one of the things I have tried is turning it off via the online interface though).
I have never turned SPC on/off (and wouldn’t know how!)
DavidJust personally, I find Access Control to be more frustrating than useful. (Who is going to guess my 20 character WiFi password?) I enable it only when researching a question posted on the forum and then promptly turn it back off.
If you scroll down the app to Parental Controls, does it say "On" or "Off"?
