Orbi rbr850 + 2 rbs850 FW 7.2.6.31
Hi guys
I have been running RBR850 + two satellites since 2020 and have never had any issues. I have BT 1gb fttp and my speeds are consistent. FW up to date on the rbr and RBs 7.2.6.31.
My issue I have noticed over the last month or so, is when on zoom (work laptop over WiFi 5ft from rbr850) my zooms would drop and I put this down to the poor vpn. However, I then ran a continuous ping to multiple sites on my personal laptop whilst on zoom and when zoom dropped my pings would also. So there was I blaming work, but the drop was coming from the router..
Anyone else suffering multiple drops per day? Any advice? Maybe a factory reset?
Thanks!

When was the system FW updated?
Was it working well before the FW update?
We can't recommend v.31 FW. Seen other users having problems with it. NG is aware of it.
Try a factory reset and setup from scratch. If the problem continues, revert the system back to v.21. Most stable FW.
Ensure your wifi drivers are up to date on all PCs.
Try channels 1 and 40 or 11 and 48.

There are a host of things that can cause a network interruption:
- Congestion
- Physical problems with cables (squirrels LOVE coax cable)
- Loose connections
- Issues with Internet Service Provider equipment (modem, Optical Network Termination unit (ONT), etc.)
- The user WiFi router
- The user device
One step often recommended is to connect the user device directly to the ISP device. Work meetings are sort of critical, so it might be worth considering if the problem occurs reliably. (Intermittent issues are frustrating to diagnose.) If the laptop has no Ethernet port, Ethernet to USB adapters are under $15 on Amazon.
When the problem occurs, does the laptop display a notice about losing WiFi?
- Thanks, both. Pretty sure it's since latest FW applied but cannot be 100%.
Ill plug the work laptop using the ethernet tomorrow direct into rbr whilst the personal laptop is left on WiFi. Then tick off the rest after that!- FURRYe38Guru - Experienced User
