Problem with an RBR750P satellite but I have not changed the firmware

I recently (a few months ago) purchased a RBR750P kit from Best Buy that included 2 satellites.  Out of the box, the satellites connected fine and worked well.  About a week ago I tried rebooting the router because of slow internet connection and was unable to reconnect one of the satellites.  I tried putting the satellite next to the router and connecting them by ethernet but neither worked.  The satellite showed a blue light but was never recognized by the router.  Is it possible this satellite has malfunctioned?

  • I called Netgear and the technician led me through all the steps listed above.  Ultimately, he isolated each satellite by having me plug it directly into the router by ethernet.  Once that was done, it was discovered that one of the satellites had failed to update the firmware.  Everything worked perfectly once the firmware matched all the satellites.  I have an RBR750P with 2 satellites.  By the way, resetting did NOT fix the problem.  Only by examining each satellite individually by ethernet was the technician able to confirm the firmware version.  All this happened during a router reboot where the system was probably trying to update the firmware but was interupted.

    You have a RBR750P and a RBS750P?

What FW version is on the RBR?

Tryied downgrading FW on the RBR to see if the RBS will re-connect?

What is the size of your home? Sq Ft?
What is the distance between the router 📡 and satellite(s)🛰️? 30 feet or more is recommended in between RBR 📡 and RBS 🛰️ to begin with depending upon building materials when wired or wirelessly connected.

What channel configurations are currently set on the router?

Try a factory reset on the RBS and RBR and let them auto connect to the RBR before beginning to setup the system using a wired PC and web browser?
