Purchased RBR850 and did factory reset but cannot access orbilogin.con

Model version: Orbi RBR850
Firmware: v4.6.14.3

Hello,
I purchased a Orbi Wi-Fi mesh system from a friend. I am trying to set up a VLAN, however, it seems that I do not have access to the orbilogin.com.
He cannot remove it from his account, and it will not let me change any password outside of the App. I tried doing a factory reset but the orbilogin password is not resetting to default. Can anyone help me accomplish the reset or help establish what I am doing wrong?

Thanks in advance!

  • Wire connect a PC to the router and factory reset the router using the back push pin button. Hold it in for 15 seconds then let go. Power OFF the ISP modem for 30 seconds than back on. Wait for the WHITE led to slowly pulsate on top of the RBR, then log in to orbilogin.com  or 192.168.1.1 using a web browser and walk thru the setup wizard. This time write down all important information for safe keeping later on.

What are you doing and what happens when you try?

How are you trying to access the browser graphical user interface (GUI)? What messages do you see when you try?

While many questions about routers are generic and could be answered anywhere, some things need specialist knowledge.

You might get more help, and find earlier questions and answers specific to your device, in the appropriate section for your hardware. That's probably here:

    Orbi - NETGEAR Communities

You might like to search there for messages related to your problem.

I will ask the Netgear moderator to move your message.

In the meantime you could visit the support pages:

    Support | NETGEAR

Feed in your model number and check the documentation for your hardware. Look at the label on the device for the model number.

    Check for various troubleshooting tips.

You may have done this already. I can't tell from your message.

I mention it because Netgear stopped supplying printed manuals and CD versions some years ago and people sometimes miss the downloads.

Looks like the factory reset through the app was what tripped me up. I used the same credentials and it didn't work. Doing it through the PC via a wired connection worked fantastically. Thank you!
