RBK853 — Orbi WiFi 6 System AX6000 - static ip
I would like to asign a static IP address to my RBK853 — Orbi WiFi 6 System AX6000
While logg-in to to router I selected Advanced->LAN Setup, and named the desired Device and selected IP address I want to use. When I then hit the "Apply" button it tels me the following.

And as i t suggestes it looses the the data and does not assign the IP to the Device.
Why is that?
Why can I not a sign an Static IP to a Device. Perhaps there is a good reason for it, but I need an IP for my NAS.

Please post about this over in the Orbi AX Forum for Orbi wifi 6 products:

Thank you.
What IP did the NAS device have assigned to it before you edited it? Are you only changing the last number?
Also, what device name string are you entering? Does it work if you try a name without any special characters (i.e., only use letters and spaces)?

Could you please clarify which device you want to have a static IP?
If you are logged into the administrative web interface on the RBR850 router and want the router itself to have a static IP address, that is done on the Orbi web interface Home Page, Internet Menu where you select "Use Static IP address" rather than "Get Dynamically from ISP". A person might do this, for example, when he has purchased a static IP from the ISP.
Sorry if I misunderstood the problem.
Please review differences between Static and Reserved IP addresses:

Thanks for your replies,
Not sure what happened and which change did the trick. Yesterday evening I retried and was able to create a reservered IP address for the Asustor NAS. Still giving the error, though after rebooting de Orbi. It was assigned to the expected IP adresss.
Problem solved,
Usually a reboot of the router and NAS is needed to ensure the IP address change took place.
Glad it's working now. Please mark your thread and solved so others will know.
Enjoy. :smileywink:
