RBR/RBS 840 Firmware Update Issues

Hello Everyone,

I was doing the manual firmware update to my RBR and RBS 840 items. I have 2 satellites on the system. When doing the manual update the first satellite went fine but the second one I could not get to update. Every time I would try to log in with the admin password, it would just take the entry and the log in window with the user and password would go blank and I would try it again and again. I tried a different browser with no change, I moved the satellite literally into the same room as the router, I rebooted it multiple times, rebooted the router also and no luck.

So I moved forward with updating the router thinking maybe that would help "push" the update, etc. to the one satellite that wouldn't take the update.

I tried doing the update to the satellite again after the router rebooted and still no luck. So now I have the router and 1 satellite on the current firmware but the one lone satellite on the old firmware.

Any ideas on how to push the newest firmware onto lone satellite.

Much appreciated ahead of time for the responses/ideas!

I did the manual update on both the router and the one satellite. However, the issue is with the 2nd satellite. I get the window prompt to update it but I put in the log in and password, the window flashes and then nothing happens, the login and password sits there empty.

First try "password" as plemans suggests.

You might need to do a paper-clip reset of the satellite and re-pair it with the router.

Even when the login password has been changed, sometimes the satellites don't change off the default. Try using "password" as the login password on the satellite.

Find the satellite IP address (either in the attached devices list in the web ui, or by selecting the satellite in the app, and looking at "details".

Then browse to the satellite IP - using the "admin" and the router admin password when prompted.  You'll see a firmware update option there.

      Hey Stephen,

I can see everything you are saying and I can get to the manual firmware update location. I did the manual update on both the router and the one satellite. However, the issue is with the 2nd satellite. I get the window prompt to update it but I put in the log in and password, the window flashes and then nothing happens, the login and password sits there empty. I can put in the credentials over and over, but it will not get to where I can browse and pick the file to manual update. Again, this is just happening with the 1 satellite, I was able to do the updates on the router and the other satellite.
