RBS850 Satellite dropping wifi connection 10-15 seconds multiple times per day
I bought an RBK853 set plus a separate RBS850 about 10 months ago for my ~10,000 sq ft house. the RBK853 is set up in the main house with the router connected to a Netgear CM2000 modem in bridge mode and the 2 RBS850's connected wirelessly. The additional RBS850 is wired in an attached addition. up until about a month ago, everything worked great. I then started having trouble with laptops, cell phones and TV(we stream YouTubeTV) dropping internet when connected to this wired RBS850. i then connected it wirelessly to see if that made any improvement. It did not. I updated the firmware to V4.6.7.13 with hopes of it solving the problem. It did not. i have constantly asked neighbors who use the same ISP(mediacom) if they were noticing drops. they aren't. So, I reconnected it with a Cat6 wire and was watching a Netflix movie and it dropped wifi signal numerous times for 5-10 seconds so i switched that satellite with another one in the house and had NO issues watching the rest of the movie. the next day my daughter was working on a laptop for her job in the room where i moved the "bad" satellite. she had wifi drop on her phone and laptop connected to that satellite numerous times.I asked her to unplug that satellite and let's see what happens. With that satellite unplugged, we still have coverage throughout the house, but just not as strong. we haven't had any issues with Wifi dropping on TV's, cell phones or laptops since we did this. is it safe to assume, i have a bad satellite. One last reminder is that this problem was happening on the last firmware and the new firmware(V4.6.7.13). Thanks

What is the Mfr and model# of the Internet Service Providers modem/ONT the NG router is connected too?
Is the Orbi system operating in Router or AP mode?
Is there a LAN switch in between the RBR and RBS or a wall jack? What CAT# LAN cable are you using? CAT6 is recommended.
What is the size of your home? Sq Ft?
What is the distance between the router and 📡 satellite(s)? 30 feet or more is recommended in between RBR and RBS📡 to begin with depending upon building materials when wirelessly connected.
https://kb.netgear.com/31029/Where-should-I-place-my-Orbi-satellite 📡What channels are you using? Auto? Try Auto and 48 on 5Ghz. Or try setting manual channel 1, 6 or 11 on 2.4Ghz and 40 to 48 channel on 5Ghz.
Any Wifi Neighbors near by? If so, how many?Has a factory reset and setup from scratch been performed since last FW update?

i have a Netgear Nighthawk CM2000 Cable Modem that i own. the Orbi RBR850 is connected to this. it is operating in Router mode. i have had this "bad" satellite connected to router with a CAT6 wire and i have also had it connected to a LAN switch and i have had it wireless in the last month and it gives me the same problem all 3 ways. I currently have one of the other RBS850's connected to a LAN switch and am not having any problems. the home is 9500-10000 ft. Auto, but 5Ghz is on 48 and 2.4Ghz is on 6. i have wifi neighbors, but they are pretty far away and they are the same i have had when i had no trouble prior to a month ago and also the same that i have right now with no trouble when this Satellite is unplugged and another is connected to LAN cable.

I have done a factory reset.

If you swap RBS locations with each other, does the problem follow the one RBS or remain at this one location?
Seems like if this one RBS is problematic, you may need to contact NG support and ask about RMA options. No FW updates would fix this...

yes. it follows the "Bad" satellite. i tried to explain all of that in the original Post. i will contact Netgear support. thanks
