Uk Virgin Super hub 4 and Orbi rbre960 + 3 satellites

All working now but now, but should i switch of the wifi on virgin SH4 and put into Modem mode as

today i had to factory reset the Virgin suoerhub 4 as internet was intermittent. I now have the virgin superhub ip is 192.168.0.1. It is radiating SSIID.  VT110 , password is 1234 and is in router mode. DHCP  is on starting address 192.168.0.10.

the orbi is connected to the superhub and ip is 192.168.1.1 it is radiating SSID VT110 , password is 1234

the orbi has 3 satellites connected using wifi backhaul

internet ip address is set to get dynamically from isp

dns is set to 8.8.8.8. , what should this be ?

lan setup is use router as dhcp server.

thanks for  all advice, not sure why clients near to both the SH4 and Orbi are not getting confused with same SSID

cheers

  • The IP address you use there is what the RBR gets from the modem. So set up a IP address reservation for the RBR on the modem, then input this same IP address into the modems DMZ.

  • IF your wanting to sue the Orbi as the main router and for everything, I recommend bridging the Superhub and disabling it's wifi. IF the SuperHub can't be fully bridged then disable it's wifi and use the hubs DMZ or IP pass thru for the RBR.

Might as the ISP if the RBR can replace the Superhub unit.

DNS can be set to anything on the RBR, Auto detect or use custom DNS of your choice.

      thanks
