Issues getting Windows 11 laptop to connect to Orbi 870
I have HP Windows 11 laptop that uses a Qualcomm FastConnect 6900 WiFi 6E adapter.
The WiFi worked fine with my previous Orbi Pro SXR80, but after upgrading to Orbi 872 system, won't connect.
I tired all three WiFi networks - Main SSID (5 and 6GHz and WPA2/3), Guest with only WPA2, and IoT (2.4GHz only and WPA2). Won't connect to any.
The HP laptop works fine on a USBC connector Ethernet adapter (which is what we are using until figure out WiFi connect issue).
Any suggestions?
Details:
- Laptop has Windows 11 Enterprise 23H2
- Qualcomm WiFi adapter is driver 2.0.0.1229
- Orbi 872 has latest software - 10.5.18.3_1.1.27

Make sure the wifi adapter drivers are up to date.
This the only device not connecting?
Try setting wifi security to NONE for a temporary test. Try the laptop connecting to the system. Reenabled wifi security afg\ter testing.
Might try a different adapter. I know Intel based adapters work.
I did update the adapter driver on Windows. The Qualcomm WiFi adapter is build into the laptop not external via USB.
I did keep the SSIDs the same for all the networks when upgrading to the Orbi 870 and all the other devices connected fine - no issues on 21 other devices. Only this Windows laptop.
The laptop does see all the available networks, just doesn't connect.
Will try the no security passcode and see what happens. But, if it does connect, then how would I fix in Windows?
Try checking some of the advanced adapter settings to see if anything there helps.
Possible adapter may not be compatible either or chip set mfr hasn't updated the drivers to support or work on WiFi7 MESH systems.

When I replace a WiFi system, the new WiFi system is configured with exactly the same WiFi credentials (SSID/password) as the one being replaced. Saves me from having to reconfigure dozens of WiFi devices. (And, allows me to "go back" to the previous WiFi system simply by swapping the units. No reconfigurations required.)
Does the computer "not connect", or does it connect but have "no internet"?
FURRYe38 proposed a good experiment. Temporarily set the Orbi to have no security on the primary SSID.
I was surprised how many hits came up when searching for "Qualcomm FastConnect 6900 WiFi 6E problem".
This discussion was one, but there appear to be several going back into 2024.
If you are still covered by the 90 days of 'complimentary support', it might be a good idea to open a case with Netgear. They may have connections to HP or Qualcomm.
Try Updating to the latest drivers Qualcomm FastConnect 6900 2.0.0.1277
