One of the 2.5 ports will just drop back to 1gig
970 Series
Anyone seen this before I replace my switch? 10gig in and also wired from router directly to a Satellite, all works great, ALL wifi's work great, but one lan port I have coming off the router and going to a 2.5 switch here in my office drops back to 1gig. putting 2 machines back to 1 gig. I have a IMAC on wireless in here and it was kicking butt. Around 2gig. So the router was still putting out the wireless speed. When I went to the app it showed that port at 1 gig.
I can unplug it and stick it in another slot on the switch and it will come back to 2.5! I can do it so fast it doesn't even disconnect the 40+ users I have connected to a box on the network.
Gremlins.....
Ya, no a fan of there stuff. Have tried some and all has gone back.
You might try NGs MS105 which is 2.5Gb supporting or a XS5050M if you want 10Gb support. I have the XS505M and GS110MX and both are solid behind my RBR.

What ports is falling back to 1Gb? On the RBR or RBS?
What brand and model# switch are you using?
What CAT# LAN cable are you using between switch and Orbi port? CAT6A STP is recommended here.
How often does this happen?

It was the port connected to the RBR as mentioned above. I didn't remove it from the RBR but from the switch and plugged it into another port on the switch to get it back to 2.5. All the other ports on the RBR at the time were 10 and 2.5 working. Just the one the switch was plugged into went to 1gig.
I use good Cat6 and Cat7 cable and not cheap garbage as I have been in telecom for some time and learned that lesson along time ago. I am using a TP-Link 2.5gig switch though. Since moving it, it's still at 2.5 so I'm assuming it's the cheap switch and need to get off my wallet. Thanks..
