ORBI 970 Overkill? To much saturation?

I just purchased the 3 pack ORBI 970 and it says up to 10k sq feet coverage . My home is a 2 story rancher/4500 sq feet. Will placing all 3 of these cause saturation, should i downgrade to the 2 station model? Or put one out in the gargage (not heated, prob in the low 20's at night). Any advice is welcomed. Crude pic of sattelite placements included in pic 🙂

  • Could. Might get the 3 pack and then deploy what you need. save the other RBS for later, or if needed.

    Hello Tcrus ,

    Welcome to the NETGEAR Community!

Start your network with one Orbi satellite connected to your Orbi router. If there are any dead spots, then you may add the second Orbi satellite into your network configuration. Based on your network topology one Orbi satellite and a router will be fine.

Please be sure to follow to the recommended Orbi placement in the link below:

So would adding the 2nd sattelite interfere cause saturation/slower speeds? I am in a bind because the 3pack was on sale and sale is off so the price for the 2 pack is about the same!!!

  • For that size of home, the RBR and one RBS would work. 30 feet distance in between the RBR and RBS is starting distance at least.

I currently own the Orbi 850 Series AX6000 - my wifi download speeds are around 380 down and 32 up. This is on a 1.2 gb connection. I have the router and 2 sattelite stations with my AX6000. The 970 woudl kind of future poroof me for  wifi down the road and probably double my speeds on wifi?
