RBE771/RBE770 Connection issues to Samsung Smart TV. Only works on IOT network at 2.4GHz.
Upgraded my old RBR50 system to the RBE771/RBE770. Managed to get everything to reconnect except my Samsung Smart TV. The TV had no issues connecting to the old system.
After much effort, I factory reset the TV and did not have any luck connecting the TV to the main wireless network.
Troubleshooting steps so far:
1. Wired network connection works just fine but is not feasible for long term.
2. When trying to connect to the router the TV sees the network as 5GHz network but unble to make a connection to the router.
3. Tried hard setting the IP address on the TV without reserving the IP on the router. Unable to connect to router.
3. Tried automatic setting the IP address on the TV but reserving the IP on the router. Unable to connect to the router.
4. Enabled IOT network using 2.4 GHz and 5 GHz option. Unable to connect to the router and to the internet when trying to connect to the IOT network (TV sees it as a 5Ghz network)
5. Enabled IOT network using 5 GHz option only. ABLE to connect to the router using the IOT network (TV sees it as a 5Ghz network) but have no internet access.
6. Enabled IOT network using 2.4 GHz option only. ABLE to connect to the router and GET internet access (TV sees it as a 2.4Ghz network).
So only way to make the TV connect with the new router and have internet access is to have the IOT network enabled but only allow 2.4 GHz operation on the IOT network. The TV is a UN40N5200AFXZA and firmware is up to date.
I have 80 devices that have managed to connect with the transfer, but the TV is the only one that cannot connect. The Rachio sprinkler controller had to be reset but connected with no issues. I see in some old post that Samsung TVs had an issue when firmware on the router was updated some time back with RBR750. Not sure if it is a Samsung or Netgear issue.
Yes the only way it will connect to internet is with IOT Network enabled at 2.4 GHz as I said in original post.
The TV will connect to the router with only the IOT 5GHz band enabled, but cannot successfully get an IP address and therefore cannot connect to the internet.

Looks like that TV was made in 2019 or 2020. Samsung is notorious for not keeping their TV firmware up to date. I have a Samsung as well and that has been my experience as well.
With that being said, sometimes older devices tend not to play nice with the newer security protocols of the newer Orbis (WPA3 and the combo of WPA3/WPA2).
Maybe try a factory reset of your TV and then power off both the TV and Orbi system and Sats for 30 seconds and see if that helps.
You should also report the issue to Netgear support as well.
IOT network is helpful for devices that are stubborn to connect like that. You could also use the guest network in a similar manner to help in the meantime as you can set those with WPA2 protocols only and 2.4 GHZ. At least until you get the issue worked out.
what firmware is on the orbi?
Do you have wpa2/wpa3 mode selected for security? Don't use wpa3 only mode

Yes the both option is applied on main network. I even tried manually setting the network up on the TV and trying to force TV to use WPA2, WPA3, or mixed and that failed as well when trying to connect to main network.

Samsung is really bad about supporting anything more than a few years old. I lean toward something in the authentication process handshaking, as really weird that I can get connect to router, but no IP assigned when IOT is set to 6GHz band but no connection when it is set to use both 6GHz and 2.4 GHz.
So to confirm you were able to get the TV working on the IoT 2.4Ghz then?
