I move around between the three (1 Router) and (2 satellites)
NO, it does not. Now when I move around between the three (1 Router) and (2 satellites) I have IOS devices that I literally have to turn OFF the wifi for 15 seconds and turn it back on to get it to w...

This system have never been right since day 1 as far as I am concerned. Ran Google for years with no issues but went to fiber and they are not fast enough so spent the $1800 for 3 of these. The router just disconnects when it wants to. No rhythm or reason.
- Firmware upgrade path
Automatic upgrades thru the app.
- Which firmware version were you using before the upgrade, and which version are you currently on?
Firmware is ALWAYS the latest. Now is on V19.13.2.1_1.3.35
- Device behavior
- When your iOS devices disconnect, do they switch to 5G/cellular, or do they remain on Wi-Fi but lose Internet access?
My iPhones will go to 5K as the Wi-Fi is gone.
- Approximately how many devices disconnect at the same time?
When the router reboots or disconnects naturally the satellites lose their connection and everything on them.
- Satellite connection
- For the satellite that only connects over 2.4 GHz, could you check the Orbi web UI → Advanced → Attached Devices and tell us what backhaul type it shows (2.4/5/6 GHz or Ethernet)?
2.4Ghz
- How far are the satellites from the router? Any walls or floors between them?
The Satellite that is on 2.4 this time (sometimes it does 5/6Ghz.to the other satellite) Goes RIGHT BY another satellite that is Ethernet to the router half the distance from it. But it goes right by that satellite all the way to the router in 2.4Ghz. When it attaches to the other wired satellite it will do 5/7 Ghz.
- App mismatch
- When the mobile app shows 52 devices and the web UI shows 40, could you share screenshots of both views?
Attached, sometimes I get an app that looks like the green one right off the bat as well and I don’t have family control. But wired things will show as wireless and offline, wireless will show as wired. It’s crazy.
- Do incorrect wired/wireless labels appear only in the app, or also in the router’s web interface?
BOTH
- System reboot issue
- Around what time does the system reboot?
No special time. Sometimes it last for 12 days, 2 days, last night 12 hours. This morning it lasted 2 hours.
- After rebooting, do the LEDs on the router and satellites behave normally?
When they settle down, the lights yes. But devices are not connected to the closest satellite. It will fix itself if it can stay up long enough, they will move to the satellite or router where they should be. This morning a wireless device is 7’ from an ethernet connected satellite but is going 60’ to another instead. The link to my switch only connected back at 1 gig instead of 2.5 as well. I had to unplug the cat cable and back in the get it to come back up on 2.5gig.
- IPv6 / Wi-Fi configuration
- Is IPv6 enabled or disabled after the upgrade?
IPv6 is disabled.
- Were any Wi-Fi settings changed prior to seeing these issues?
These issues have been here since I bought the system. Again, look at the account. But I’m just tired of putting up with it.
If you're willing, enabling debug logging will greatly assist our engineering team in identifying the root cause. We can share the steps.
Not an issue if it will help.

Thank you for the feedback.
Couple additional items please:
- Update thru the RBR web page or thru the Orbi app?
-
What is the distance between the RBR and RBS?
How big is the home in sq feet?
- What iOS version is on the iphones? iOS 26.1 has known fixes for some of there iPhone connections issues. I highly recommend trying it. I just updated to iOS 26.2 yesterday.
- What is the model # of the Nokia modem/ONT?
- Are you using ISP detected DNS on the RBR or custom DNS?
- What brand and model# is this LAN switch?
- What wifi channels are you using? I recommend 1, 6 or 11 on 2.4Ghz and 40, 44 or 48 on 5Ghz.
- We've seen issues with systems updated via Auto update or thru the Orbi app. I recommend that you download the currenty FW version files for the RBS and RBR and MANUALLY apply the FW to the RBS FIRST, then the RBR lastly using a ethernet connected PC at the RBR. I recommend bringing the RBS to clear by or in same room as the RBR for this. Please review and follow this guide to do this: Procedure to Manually Firmware Update Orbi and Nighthawk Mesh systems. | NETGEAR Communities
- After FW is fully updated, please follow this guide and performe a full on factory reset and setup from scratch: Orbi Systems Manual Factory Reset Process | NETGEAR Communities
Hoping after this, should see better operation of the system along with iOS updating as well.

First, I don’t want this to come off as cocky. I do appreciate the help. I owned a computer store for 10+ years and was one of the original ISP’s around back in the day. Heck, I used to run a Sysco 2510 router if that dates me. T1 line and 300 dial up modem pools (56k). Then Earthlink bought me out and about a few months later broadband came out! Whew. So, I have been around the block a little. Then spent 33 years in Telecom with American Tower in operations before retiring.
So much for the background. I just didn’t want you to think you were dealing with the average person.
-------------------------
All my IOS’s are up to date as is everything else. I have had trouble with this system since I bought it, and I run some servers and can’t just throw people off them anytime I want to try something so it may be time to move on. I ran Google mesh back in the day when it came out for about 3 years and never had an issue. It just won’t take the fiber pipe speed I have now, so I thought I was moving up. $1800 later.
I have NETGEAR switch’s (MS308) x 2 All cat7 cables that are not cheap. I have a spectrum analyzer, have changed channels to where Spectrum cable and neighbors are not around me.
Channels: I use 40 and 9 because 1 and 6 are being used all over this place.
I run my own DNS box but have tried the ISP’s, Google, etc. No joy. I do have a static IP.
I now have nothing but the ONT and 1 switch and 1 wired backhaul satellite plugged into the back of the router itself. Removed everything else. That’s it. All else is into the switch. Then I have some plugged into the remote satellite. I REMOVED the wireless backhaul satellite from the system TOTALLY yesterday and have it laying here in my office/shack. (I’m a ham operator)
Since removing the wireless satellite from the system yesterday it has now been up 23 hours without a reboot. We will see. The app is never right. It shows things that are wireless as they are wired and vise versa, but I can live with that. Right now, I’m leaving the wireless satellite out of the system as everything else is connected to the RBR and wired backhaul RBS that are still in place. We will see how long it last.
Thank for the help and suggestions.

Cna you please confirm the iOS Version numbers on your apple devices for reference.
Can you change 2.4Ghz to channel 11 as channel 9 is not a primary channel.
Can you give the brand and model# of the ONT please for reference.
What is the distance between the RBR and RBS?
