Cannot connect RAX30 router to my new fiber modem

I recently switched to fiber for my internet and I cannot get my router to connect to the new modem at all, and I know the fiber modem is working because when I plug it into the internet company provided router it works just fine, but when I plug in my netgear Nighthawk RAX30 router,I can't get it to connect to the internet.

Did you reset the router before you moved it to the new network?

Can you actually access the browser graphical user interface (GUI)? If you don't want to wipe out all your settings, you could try running the router through the Internet connection wizard.

I assume that fiber means optical fibre to an optical network termination (ONT). Every Internet network has fibre in it somewhere. But not all of he deliver it to your front door.

  • Has a power off for 1 minute then back ON with the ISP modem and router been performed since last update?
Be sure to restart your network in this sequence:
    Turn off and unplug modem.
    Turn off router and computers.
Plug in and turn on modem. Wait 2 minutes for it to connect.
Turn on the router and wait 2 minutes for it to connect.
Turn on computers and rest of network.
