RAXE500 port forwarding problem
Greetings,
I've seen community messages about accessing PLEX media server via port 32400 but they are years old and much earlier routers. My access to my PLEX media server on my LAN stopped yesterday after a power outage. I've tried various combinations of using default UPnP on with no port forwarding or with UPnP off and port forwarding enabled. Nothing seems to be connecting. Have tried with firewalls off. Have tried rebooting everything. What am I missing?
Cheers.
Thanks for your help. This is now solved. Turned out not to be a problem with Netgear port access. I had to completely remove Plex media server app and all ts folders from the NAS. I have reinstalled the media server app and I am now rebuilding the libraries. A process that will probably take 24 hours or more. I'm guessing a file or setting corruption somewhere as a result of the electricity problems.

Has a power off for 1 minute then back ON with the ISP modem and router and satellites been performed since last update?
Be sure to restart your network in this sequence:
Turn off and unplug modem.
Turn off router and computers.
Plug in and turn on modem. Wait 2 minutes for it to connect.
Turn on the router and wait 2 minutes for it to connect.
Turn on computers and rest of network.Something to contact the Plex mfr about for help and support information regarding there product.

I use plex all the time. A couple questions
- what modem/gateway is the RAXE connected to? PLex doesn't like double nats
- What error does plex give you when you enable remote usage
- Is the plex working locally?

Thanks FURRYe38 I will try leaving everything off overnight and restart in the order you suggest.
Thanks also plemans. The RAXE is connected to an NBN gateway as fibre to the premise. It was working fine before the power outage and I'm not aware of any updates so not sure that is the issue. No error message from Plex and no local access. My local media server is on an Asustor NAS that requires access to the plex website to enable login. I cannot get to the login page as all browsers are stopping port 32400.

Not sure how it works with the Asustor NAS but when I was hosting on a nas, if the nas address changed, so did the plex address. For example, if the NAS address was 192.168.1.1 the nas would be at 192.168.1.1:32400/web . So when the nas changed, to a different address, you'd have to change what address you navigated to to access the plex. Have you logged into the router and/or nas to check to see if the connection to the plex is still at the same address. and using the same port?

Stinks when that happens. If you're big into plex, upgrading to a half decent windows PC with built in GPU or even iGPU makes a big difference. I initially ran it on a router, then a NAS, and moved it to a server and its made a huge difference in performance/capability. I picked one up off the local marketplace cheap. Set it up without a monitor and just remotely manage it. I stuck a nvidia 1060 just for transcoding it it because it was an AMD system but if you get one with intel quicksync, it can do quite a bit of transcoding.

Another thought, make sure to go in on the RAXE and setup your nas with an address reservation. That way, if something happens to power/reboot, it'll have the same IP address on reboot. Helps prevent these issues

This site was great for looking at older pc's to see if the built in CPU could transcode as well as what gpu might be beneficial to add.
