WPA3 Security is non existent yet it is "supported"?

I wanted a router that included WPA3 security.  On the box it says, Supported.  On the help site it tells you where to  go to enable but the onlyy drop down is WPA-WPA2, etc.

False advertising will lead to a return.

Anyone else have this issue with Netgear?

  • Netgear have completely F'ed up their AX products. They removed so many features because their firmwares have been completely unstable and un-useable, especially for the RAX40. Certain firmwares have certain functionality but others don't.. they supposedly removed them to make the router more stable.. which is a load of crap. They just released a whole bunch of version 2 of our routers (e.g. RAX40v2, RAX120v2) and I bet they're going to tell us that if we want those features, we need to buy the v2. Which is corrupt behaviour and as you said, false advertising on our products.

What version of the firmware are you on?

And do you have RAX40v1 or V2?

If you're on v1 and using the latest (1.0.3.88) the release notes show ofdma, wpa3, and smart connection were all pulled and if you want them to roll back the firmware a version. Maybe there was an issue found and a choice was made to pull those features until it could be fixed (which I'm sure they're working on or they wouldn't have put that notice in the release notes)

“ if you want them to roll back the firmware a version.” quite ridiculous that they mention that because v1.0.3.80 is the only publicly released firmware with the features mentioned and they pulled this from the server due to widespread instability of the firmware causing constant dropouts

The RAX120 has WPA3, it lacks UL OFDMA but the V2 might just be that the old chip stocks has run low and now they are using the updated version. Both Firmwares look similar.
To be fair it's pretty good.
