parental controls no longer working
I need some help into figuring out why parental controls has stopped working. Even when I'm matching ip address to the correct laptop, pausing the internet via the app, the laptop continues to work. I've also noticed that the app has started to name my devices incorrectly. It'll show our epson printer as my son's previous laptop or roku express as his phone and our oven as samsung smartwatch . What is going on?

It sounds like your router’s device identification and IP mapping are out of sync, likely due to dynamic IP assignments or cached device names. Try rebooting the router, clearing DHCP leases, and reassigning static IPs to key devices. Also, update the parental control app and firmware to ensure accurate device recognition and control.

I have a RAX54v2 and has always been using the nighthawk app to control all the devices. Everything has worked well until about a month ago when I noticed the kids were always on their devices without the time limits. I thought they were messing with the app, renaming devices, or changing their ip addresses somehow. I have their computer set to private home computer and the limit ip tracking turned off on their ipads. I use to be able to even pause the tv and that also stopped working so it’s all across the board and not just the kids’ devices. I’ve rebooted the router and deleted and added the app back on but it still doesn’t work.
