Activation Experience with CM1000 and Medicom Cable
Mediacom has a recommended modems list Customer Owned Compatible Modems Despite my probems using a C3700 modem/router, I decided, if this DOCSIS 3.1 modem was good enough for Mediacom, it would be go...

1. Only access to information is via the web interface, which is VERY limited. Just the channels and related, my serial number, MAC address, and password changing.
>> yes, since this is a modem, there is nothing much to configure. If it were C7800 D3.1, there are lot of GW options to configure.
2. No SNMP access. If it isn't on the web page, I can't find the information. Like how long has it been up? How long has it been connected to the CMTS/Internet?
>> SNMP access from LAN side is not allowed by MSOs. even if we allowed it, MSOs will block it using their config files.

I have 2 problems, that continue to perplex me.
1.The modem disconnects from the Internet at odd times during the last two weeks, and is now not connecting to my router. Finally got a connection just to my laptop to enter this update.
2. Continuing to see high correctable/uncorrectable errors on Channel ID 1, even shortly after a reboot.
Rebooted device today (MANY times) because I lost my LAN connection to my router. So I took the router out of the equation and connected directly to my laptop. After numerous reboots of the CM1000 and my laptop, I am finally able to get to the Internet and post this followup. No changes to router programming. "Can't" change settings on the modem. I'm not going to mess with the Starting Frequency.
Then, checking on the modem's status the errors continue to concern me, because the correctables/uncorrectables are so high on Channel 1, already, after about 15-30 minutes of connect time, when all the others are at 0. This is not a just happened today concern. It has been like this when I had a C3700 installed. The cable company (Mediacom) had been out and replaced several splitters and lengths of cable inside the house. It didn't get better so I bought the CM1000.
