Thank you for your reply! I guess that is one of the drawbacks of being an early adopter. The moden is running great by the way. As a brand new xfinity customer I was able to talk the xfinity installer into connecting it instead of the one he had brought with him. Obviously he had never seen one before and his techsupport had never heard of it before but they had no trouble getting it running.
Is the battery only good for the voice feature when you lose power? Or will the battery maintain power for both voice and internet? A UPS might be a better option, if the battery only powers voice.

The battery powers all the modems functions but a UPS is always good to have for your other devices as well.
