  • Judging from the manual, the C3700 does not support wireless repeater mode.  After all, it's a cable modem router, so it would not make sense for it to function as a repeater.  On the other hand, if you are thinking of enabling bridge mode, which disables the router functionality, then that's done in ADVANCED > Administration > Router Mode.

Thank you for the reply. Let me ask my question differently.

i have a working wireless router. I would like to use the c3700 to wirelessly cover dead spots in my wifi. Does the c3700 do that and if the answer is yes how?

      thanks

The C3700 cannot wirelessly cover dead spots in your Wi-Fi.  But you may be able to use it as a wired Access Point.  To do this, connect an Ethernet cable from one of C3700's LAN ports to your working wireless router.  If using Ethernet is not practical, you can use Powerline adapters.

You will need to disable the DHCP server on the C3700.  Then, set up the Wi-Fi network on the C3700.  You can use the same or different SSID.  In either case, just be sure to use a different Wi-Fi channel.
