C3700 Invalid MAC address
Time Warner is unable to activate my C3700 because the MAC address is invalid. I have given them the MAC address many times however they claim it is invalid..
Has anyone else experienced this? If so how did you correct the problem?
Thanks DarrenM. The modem is ok. I have learned that Time Warner has it assigned to my previous account and they have not found anyone who knows how to reassign it.
As much as it pains me it looks like I will be buying a new router and using Time Warners modem.

Are you sure you have given them the MAC address? It's a 12 hexademical digits, usually of the form xx:xx:xx:xx:xx:xx or xx-xx-xx-xx-xx-xx. You'll find it printed on the label attached to the modem/router.

Thanks for the reply. Yes I gave them the number on the label and verified it by logging into the modem. Funny thing is it worked with Time Warner for over a year then I moved and it worked at my new location for a few days until Time Warner to activated it. Not sure what to do next.
Wait, you moved locations but are still with Time Warner? Maybe they think the MAC address is tied to the old location. Did you tell them that you moved?
