C6300 Dropping wifi connection suddenlt
I can't seem to find a straight answer on here so I feel like asking again. I have an AC1750 modem/router that has been working fine for the past 8 months or so. In the past few days, it has been suddenly dropping WiFi and won't correct itself without being unplugged or rebooted. If I plug in with an Ethernet cable, the internet will always work. I also know at some point the wireless radios got turned off for both 2.4/5 frequencies. I've tried everything I can think of and conducted a factory reset. I've also verified with my ISP that nothing is malfunctioning on their end. Any ideas?
I fought this problem for months and finally discovered that the problem for me was the PSP (Power Save Polling) feature of my Windows laptop, which is not supported by this router. In short, when the laptop's wifi adapter would "sleep" in power saving mode, it would basically block all connections to the router, and I would lose all connections (phones etc.) on the 2.5G channel that the laptop was using. To fix this, go to your Device Manager, click on Network Adapters, right click on wireless adapter, click properties, click Power Management, and UNselect "Allow the computer to turn off this device to save power". Mine has worked flawlessly ever since doing this. Hope this helps.

I am having the same issue. Wireless network drops, but wired connections are fine. When I view the router settings everything shows to be operational. Turning on and off the wireless via the admin settings (advanced/advanced setup/wireless settings/enable radio) doesn't have any effect, neither does turning on/off the SSID.
The only thing that solves the issue is power cycling the router. It happens at random times, and is getting more frequent.

I tried using the Netgear Genie to detect a problem but because it has to be plugged in to the computer via Ethernet when it's not working, Netgear Genie thinks everything is working fine.

Can you post the logs of the modem or check and see if any issues are showing up when the wifi stops working?

You're a damn genius
Thanks gocker102293,
I'm hardly a genius but I was determined not to have wasted $180 on a router that had me pulling my hair out! Glad I could help.
