C6300 NAT Settings
Hello All,
My son is trying to use his XBOX App on his WIndows 10 Laptop and when he tries to join a party and chat with his brothers he gets an error saying his network setting won't allow this. My thought was I probably need to open the NAT settings. However, when I went to WAN setup there isn't any NAT filtering option to change. I think it's supposed to be by the "Disable SIP ALG" setting but I see nothing there. Any advice/help would be greatly appreciated.

The NAT setting is usually in WAN setup, but it's not mentioned in the manual, so it's possible that the setting is not available on the C6300. :smileysad:
Here are some options:
- Try enabling UPnP(ADVANCED > Advanced Setup > UPnP). The XBOX App may use it to open the ports automatically.
- Try using port forwarding instead of UPnP.
- Put your son's laptop in the DMZ (kinda dangerous).
- Buy a router capable of opening NAT and disable router mode on the C6300 (ADVANCED > Administration > Router Mode > No)
- Replace the C6300 with a better modem/router
Options 1 and 2 are the easiest to attempt, but they won't guarantee success. It depends on the missing NAT filtering option.
