C6300 Weak/Slow Wifi and wierd Gateway?
My iPhone 6 and the renters down stairs show very weak signals, down stairs it's often times hard to get a signal at all. It is never above the second signal strength dot on the iPhone, even when right next to the router. Speed test using an ap shows 26MBs up and 5.7 down on the wifi iPhone, while my cable connected comuter shows 120MBs up and 6.5MBs down.
In Windows 7 using command prompt --> ipconfig I show the following for the default gateway:
fe80:deef:gff:fe75:f85a%10
192.168.0.1
The second line shows what I think would be normal, Is that first line normal?
I have the channel selection on automatic and it's the same on 21 or 5g
The only other wifi connected devices are cell phones and a DVD player which is off.
Thanks,

BTW I was really disappointed in the Netgear tech "help." I couldn't find an answer on the website and finally called the tech. Since I bought the router last December he told me the 90 day tech help is over and I would have to pay $50 even though it has a 1 year warranty. I declined, since I think that is a rip off and also I could hardly understand the guy with his heavy Indian accent, or what ever it was. He gave me a link to a "solution" which was simply pages on the website I had already seen. Also, their email response took a day for his "solution," which really wasn't relevant.
I installed a pretty neat iPhone app that measures signal streength as you walk around. I was surprised at how the signal dropped off after only about 3o feet from the modem with only one interior sheetrock wall and glass windows on the outside walls.. I still think something is wrong with it and any help would be appreciated.

Hello doane2u
Have you tried to set the wireless channel to a signal channel rather than using auto?

I changed the channel for Netgear21 from auto to channel 10 and it did improve the upload speed considerably, from 26Mbs to 42.5Mbs . How do you tell which channel to select though, and isn't auto supposed to select the right channel? Still a lot slower then my cable connected computer that gets 120Mbs though.
Netgear5g is set to channel 153 with four other channels shown as current. I tested it and I get even worse results, 14.5Mbs down and 5.6Mbs up.. I thought it was supposed to be a lot faster?
Also, I'm still concerend about the default gateway description, is that normal to have that first line I showed above?
Thanks,
