C6900 Router continuously asking for admin password reset
Rebooted the C6900 router, and now on all devices that connect through wifi continuously getting prompted for resetting the password, and setting and answering a couple of security questions.
Tried entering new password, and setting up the security questions, and clicked on the 'Next' button which goes to an error page.
Anyone know what's going on, and is anyone else having the same issue?

That screen is for the router's (GUI) admin login. It has nothing to do with wifi.
Wifi and GUI have different passwords. Look on the label for the default settings.
If you are trying to use the "password recovery" option, there is a bug in Netgear's implementation of password recovery on some devices. You can get locked into a closed loop.
If password recovery is enabled, but you have not set the answers to the questions, it keeps sending you back to the beginning of the process. If you haven't already given the thing your personal answers, they are not in its memory and it has no way of knowing if they are correct. But you won't see that when connecting to the wifi from the router.

These are the few steps that we performed. Not sure, which one helped
- Hard reset the router (by using a paperclip and pressing the reset button for 30 sec)
- This might have removed the cache and might have triggered the firmware update.
- After the router came back online, we tried to connect to wifi in mac. (By clicking on the wifi icon in the header).
- This step will trigger a password reset pop up. It will be little different than what you see in the browser.
- We entered the new password + answered the security questions
- Instead of clicking on the "Next" button, this time, we clicked on the > icon in the status bar (bottom of the popup)
- We did not see any error page, but saw the success page and that changed the password for all devices.
- Now, when we try to connect to wifi on tv or phone, it did not show the reset pop up
Hope this helps!
- 5cubajoeAspirantNot sure what helped but my biggest issue was getting the login screen to work with “modern” browsers. I think when I ran 192.168.0.1 on actual IE that I finally got it to work. Who knows, but I don’t have to replace it.
