C7800 upgrade?
I have a c7800 midem/router that is aging. My home is 2,000 sqft, my internet provider is Xfinity and I have their 500gb plan. I have about 20 devices connected to my network.
What is a reasonable combo upgrade that will cover my requirements but not break the bank.

You want another modem/router? Experienced users prefer separate devices.
Try plugging your needs into the filters on the product pages:
Wireless Routers for Home | NETGEAR
Cable Modem Routers: Modem Router Combo | NETGEAR
andThen check back here for reports on the things you are considering, but remember that people turn up in this community with problems, not compliments. So look at reviews on Amazon, for example.

- charleyrichAspirantThe problem: I need to reboot the device once a week as it begins to slow down dramatically. My normal speed of 500+Mbs drops and stays at ~100 Mbs. A lot of device start failing to connect. Also, Xfinity stopped supporting the device. I suspect I am no longer getting updates.
I would like a recommend of a combo that doesn't have these issues and supports Wi-Fi 6.

I suspect I am no longer getting updates.Updates for cable modems are in the hands of the Internet service provider (ISP).
In recent years Netgear has released modem/routers where the router bit has separate firmware that it can update. The modem's firmware is still down to the ISP.
Look at the CAX range.
You might like to check to see if Xfinity has a list of compatible modems.
Buying a modem/router means that you have a limited chjoice of router features. Separate devices let you buy a basic modem and then to add a router with as many bells and whistles as you like.

With so many options out there, recommending a replacement could be dangerous.
