cable modem setup

Hello, I recently purchased the CM400 cable modem and had it activated with my cable company. After activating the modem, I connected the ethernet cable from the modem to my wireless router. Everything is working/connecting just fine, but I noticed the ethernet light on my modem keeps blinking orange. I was wondering if I need to do anything additional with the setup or there is a way to make it stop blinking. If anyone could help answer my question, I would greatly appreciate it.
