Can I change LAN IP address from 192.168.0.1 to 192.168.100.1?

Hi all

I've been asked to change my LAN IP address from 192.168.0.1 to 192.168.100.1 to avoid an IP conflict with a VPN.

In the Firmware I've gone to Advanced > Setup > LAN setup and am about to change the IP address, the starting IP and the ending IP address from 192.168.0.x to 192.168.100.y

After I change the IP address do I just have to restart the router and then access the Firmware through 192.168.100.1?

Just a bit concerned about destroying my Wifi setup, which is currently working perfectly!

I'm using a Netgear Wireless Router CG3000V2

Thanks for any advice

Sarah

  • Just to be clear, the following won't work:

    Starting IP address: 192.168.0.x

    Ending IP address: 192.168.100.y

What will work is the following:

    Starting IP address: 192.168.100.x

    Ending IP address: 192.168.100.y

Once you apply this change, your devices will need to obtain IP addresses in the new range.  For devices that use DHCP to get their IP addresses automatically, rebooting them will work.  For devices that are manually configured with a static IP address, it will be necessary to manually change their address to fit in the new subnet.

Thank you! Yes that was a typo. I followed your advice and it worked perfectly.
