CAX 30 freezes main network.
Hi all. I have a CAX 30 with an EAX 18 extender. Let's call my home network "Network". Smart connect enabled. In the Wi-Fi finder it presents as "Network" and "Network-5G". I think our devices tend to default to Network. Well, the problem is, every now and then (in fact, several times a day), the internet will freeze. The website will stop loading, the kid's game will crash and so on. The Speediest app will show "No internet connection", and the Nighthawk app also shows all kinds of crazy. I found a workaround -- just switch to the "Network-5G", and everything is fine for a while. Problem is, at some point the devices will reconnect to "Network" and then at some point freeze again. Didn't see this happening to the streamers (Playstation, AppleTV), laptops, or the kid's iMac, and my desktop is LAN connected to the router. The issue seems to be limited to phones and tablets. I think there may be an issue with the initial setup, but I don't want to go mess with it again and possibly make it worse. Also, all the phones and tablets are listed as "unknown" in connected device list, I think I remember them all being named before.
Maybe it's not important, but I was messing a lot with settings about three months ago. The network kept going haywire. I later tracked it down to my UPS battery going bad, which led to random UPS shut-downs. I got a new UPS since and the issues stopped, except for the one described above.

Does this happen with the EAX turned OFF?
What is the distance between the CAX and EAX in feet?
Does this happen with Smart Connect enabled?
What Firmware version is currently loaded?
Please post a copy and paste of the modems connection status and event log page.

Any Wifi Neighbors near by? If so, how many?- RetvizanAspirant
Hello FURRYe38, thanks for helping.
I always have the EAX18 on, so no, never. However, the network lost internet connection even before I got the EAX18, I would just switch the mobile device into the LTE mode for a while, and wouldn't pay too much attention. Now I'm thinking of cancelling the mobile service to the iPads, so I need my WiFi to behave.
The distance between the two is about 40 feet and 3 walls (not load-bearing), never had an issue with signal.
Smart Connect is always enabled.

I will try to play around with channels today, like you suggested.
Besides my printer, there are two WiFi networks also showing -- a general Spectrum Mobile and one neighbor's of medium strength.
Let me know what you think, and I will also keep you updated.
