CAX 80 Power Light Only On, won’t reset
I have a CAX80 cable modem router that recently stopped working. The modem worked great from July 2021 - August 2022. I disconnected it, and boxed it up when I moved. Then, when I was settled in my new place a few weeks ago, I hooked it up with my new ISP. It worked excellent for a few days, but then randomly stopped working.
It turns on, and the power and 1,2,3, and 4 icons light up for a few seconds. Then the power light only stays on. There is no way to connect to the modem/router; it will not identify it on wifi or Ethernet. I’ve also seen this is a common problem from others on this forum.
Does anyone have any suggestions beyond the normal power cycling, reset button, etc.? I would hope a $500 Netgear modem/router would last more than a couple years.

- TMali09AspirantHaving the same problem today, bought new in Feb 2022 and today I only get the power light. Tried all the same tricks I've seen on the forum. Tech support is no help, says I'm out of my 1 year warranty. I paid 400 for this to last just a little over a year is ridiculous

Try a factory reset with the ISP coax line disconnected. Press the reset button for 10 seconds then release. See if the front LEDS come on and the download LED keeps blinking. Then connect the ISP coax line back to the modem. Then try connecting to the modems web page with a ethernet connected PC at 192.168.1.1 in a web browser.
