CAX30 Lan IP

I've updated the firmware to 2.2.2.2 for the new CAX30 first thing, before setup.  I've setup router & modems for about 20yrs, but I must be missing something in Advanced>Setup>LAN.  I change the LAN IP and subnet, but it won't save\apply.  Always returns back to the default LAN IP.  Even tried to set a 10 device IP pool only, but no good.  Is there a setting somewhere else or this new ARMOR defense that requires more steps to simply change the LAN IP?

  • Wondering if 10.x will work. 172 should have. đꤔ

    Do you have Armor enabled?

Never have had a issue of changing from 192.168.1.1 to 192.168.0.1 when I had my CAX30 online. That's been the only one I use. I haven't tried any others like 10 or 172. Those should work fine.

What IP subnet are you trying to use?

If you factory reset the CAX30 and setup from scratch using a wired PC and web browser, then go in and change the router IP to something else, does this work. https://kb.netgear.com/22697/How-do-I-install-my-NETGEAR-router-using-the-router-web-interface

Don't use the NH app to setup the CAX30.

I was shooting for 195.65.X.X.  I've used this in the past with other Netgear Routers and it worked fine.  I usually use 255.255.255.0 subnet.

I do see that ARMOR is running via my web browser.  Is there a way to turn it off?

Disable it thru the Nighthawk App first.

I think there is also a debug page when it can be disabled as well, though I don't remember if it was on the CAX30.

So seems that only 10, 172 or 192 is supported on CAX model gateways. 195 is a C class IP address subnet used by public WAN side systems. Should not be really used on a private LAN side network.
