CM1000-100NAS

Purchased this Modem in January. Have had nothing but connection issues with this modem. Called and have had two case numbers assigned to this problem. Nothing resolved. Using Midcontinent Communications (MIDCO). The issue is that I get increasingly slow results on web requests, sometimes to the point where I get a timeout from some sites. I have to power cycle the modem at least once a day if not more just to get websites to load.

I have replaced the switch and wireless modems with new Netgear hardware but have the issue on both wired and wireless connections.

I have recently had the cable company come out and replace every connection and check their lines to ensure that is not the problem.

I am at the point of throwing the modem out and purchasing a different brand.

Any help would be greatly appreciated. TIA

  • Antinode,

Thank you for the suggestion. As you can see, I am a novice at this.

I ran a new cat 5e line from the cable modem to the R7000, I came out of the R7000 with a line that now goes to the switch. I will try this and see if it resolves the problem. My WiFi router is about 40' from the modem.

I believe this is what you wanted me to try, let me know if I am incorrect.

Thanks you again for the replies. Hoepfully this will be the answer.

    Kevin

Is this being experinence while directly connected to the modem with a PC or do you have a wifi router in betwen the modem and PC?

CM1000-100NAS to GS116 Netgear switch and switch to Windows 7 computer. Also one line out of switch to R7000-100NAS WiFi router. The computer is Cat5e from switch to desktop.

           That could explain much.  Try: CM1000 --- R7000 --- GS116.

If you really connected a switch to your modem, with multiple devices
connected to the switch, then I wouldn't expect any brand to work.
