CM1200 modem wont connect to the internet despite green LEDs
I pulled out an older netgear modem and I installed a new CM1200 and then called Spectrum to activate it. Once they activated it I had four solid green leds on the front of the modem. Spectrum was able to see it.
But my devices would not connect to the internet.
I did notice a Spectrum activation landing page that came up on my PC but Spectrum servcie said I did not need to activate through the web interface.
I power cycled the modem and my router but still no internet access. Spectrum said since they could see it everything was good on thier end and I needed to contact Netgear.
I found the thread below but issue seemed to be the wrong MAC typed in by Spectrum. In my case Spectrum confirmed the MAC address and insisted they saw it.
Solved - despite the four green LEDs on the modem suggesting it was officialy conneceted, a character in the MAC address was incorrect. Why the MAC address authority allows "B" and "8" to coexist and be printed in capitals is beyond me.... Same issue with "0" and "O".

Connect your PC to LAN Port #1 of the modem and power it OFF for 1 minute then back on. Reboot your PC as well.
After the mode is online, check internet access. Besure to clear all web browser caches.
Try a different browser to test.
Do you can to netgear.com with out the activation page appearing?

Ya, I agree, the font used on the stickers and box can be hard to see. I wish they would use more visable font type to avoid confusion like this.
Glad you got it working though. You might take a pen and write on a post it note and stick it to the modem and or box for future reference.
Enjoy. :smileywink:
