CM1200 on Mediacom 1GB pan - high jitter/latency variation and packet loss
I'm experiencing consistent/severe latency variation and packet loss. Ping/tracert/pingplotter tests indicate this is occurring at the modem. I'm going through my modem logs and signal data, and need some help understanding what some of these things mean, so I can triangulate the problem.
---------------------------------------------
What do these event codes indicate? I see these consistently throughout the day;
Started Unicast Maintenance Ranging - No Response received - T3 time-out;CM-MAC=28:80:88:b4:93:70;CMTS-MAC=00:17:10:91:72:8b;CM-QOS=1.1;CM-VER=3.1 |
CM-STATUS message sent. Event Type Code: 24; Chan ID: 200; DSID: N/A; MAC Addr: N/A; OFDM/OFDMA Profile ID: 1 2.;CM-MAC=28:80:88:b4:93:70;CMTS-MAC=00:17:10:91:72:8b;CM-QOS=1.1;CM-VER=3.1;

Dynamic Range Window violation
----------------------------------------------
Also, I'm seeing high correctable/uncorrectable codewords on the modem signals page. What does this indicate? What are the good/meh/bad thresholds for this statistic? I've attached a screenshot that highlights what I'm referring to.
Appreciate the help!

Try and get a screen snip of all the downstream/upstream channels including the errors/etc.
if there's any splitters, amplifiers, attenuators inline, remove them. They can add interference.
Also, prefereably look to hook up the modem right where the coax enters the home. this prevents wiring within the home from adding interference. and then see how it performs.
