CM600 HOT

Question

I just purchased a brand new CM600 and I have it installed with Time Warner internet service. The concern I am having is, the modem runs so HOT it's hard to think this is normal? Anybody else have these modems and can you tell me if this is normal?

Is it way to hot to put your hand on? do you have it out in the open so it can get air? If it is way to hot I would suggest contacting Netgear support.

My modem is not too hot to touch, but almost! I have the modem in my climate controlled closet on a shelf wide open to the rest of the room. I ordered a infrared thermometer that will be here Wednesday. On Wednesday I can give you guys exact temperatures. Anybody else have experience with this modem?

I purchased a infrared thermometer and according to the thermometer, the modem is running at 123°! Is this normal, or a fire hazard?

Operating temperature: 32° to 104°F (0° to 40°C)

&nbsp;

So it does seem to be hotter than normal I would contact our support.
