CMD31T not working with TWC
On 1/26/2016 I came home and the internet was not working. Called TWC tech support and they tried to fix the problem and could not. They stated that the CMD31T modem was the problem. They also stated that many Netgear modems have recently stopped working with TWC. My argument was that the modem firmware has not been updated recently and there have not been any changes to the modem, so it could not be the modem. Has there been any problems recently with Netgear modems and TWC?

Hello Strobelite
I would check all your connections on the modem and if the modem is connected with a splitter I would try to remove that splitter and connect the modem directly to the wall see if it gets a connection. If not you may want to try another outlet in the house if you have active cable threw the whole house to see if it may just be that outlet having issues. If you see that the power light stays red/amber or the modem does not power on at all then it should be fine. You may want to contact TWC again and have them send a tech to check the lines and signal if those troubleshooting steps do not work.

Same thing happened to me. It's Saturday and cable interrupted since Wed. TW tech came out and said the problem is the Netgear modem. I called Netgear and because my warranty was expired, (approximately 22 mos) I would have to pay for an extended warranty to get the Netgear modem re-configured. As the Netgear rep said the modem is fine and working, just needed a re-configuration. I opted to buy a new Linksys modem which was cheaper than buying an extended warranty, online now and working fine. Evidently, something is going on with this model modem and TWC. I also asked if this had anything to do with TW becoming Spectrum. TW claim this will be a long marriage and services should be fine.
