Consistently high error numbers on some channels

I'm consistently getting very high error counts on channel ids 15, 22 and 23. Any idea what the cause may be?

  • No, i"ve seen it quite frequently where a bad connector/cable only cause interference on a few channels.

Its usually an issue with either the incoming line from your isp, one of the cables, a splitter, attenuator, amplifier, etc. Anything in the line cause cause issues if they've got corrosion, damage, kinks, moisture.

    Easiest way to start?

Move the modem to directly where the coax enters the home and hook it up directly without any splitters, attenuator, amplifiers. This prevents something internal to the home causing the issues. If they're still there, check the cable for kinks/cheap ends. Still having the issue? then contact the ISP for them to check the line. It could be an issue on the coax run from their box or even within the hub itself.

Thanks.  For some reason I would have thought a cable issue would impact all channels equally rather than impacting just these specific channels.
