device does not have wifi signal c6300

I purchased the netgear c6300 wifi modem router combo, everything is installed and up to date, cable works just fine. the wifi works upon reboot for anywhere between 30 seconds to a couple hours but without a doubt fails. when i say it fails i mean that the modem still has every wifi setting turned on, enabled, lights are lit up, modem says that wifi is active, but there is no actual wifi signal appearing on any device, on either the 2.4 or 5g bands. I have already replaced the device once and continue to have the exact same issue. how can i make this a stable connection?

    Hello JoeB10000

Have you tried to change the wireless channel? Or try to lower the wireless speed.

Tried both options. With no change.

I am not sure i understand how changing the speed of the wireless signal would affect the devices failure to broadcast any signal at all.

        Hello there

Just a thought as I do not know what Devices/OS you are connecting to the router or what your overall environment is?

I do know that wirelss problems can be a pain to deal with as you can get interference from a range of electrical devices, other networks on the same or neighbouring channels, or just the router getting hot and failing or a bug in the firmware?

Have you tried using a wireless diagnostic program/app. I used to have a good one on Windows, which showed all the available wireless networks and there relative strengths etc. I don't have anything on my Mac at the mo (though I think there might be something built in) but I do have a good one on Android called OpenSignal which shows both mobile and wifi sigals. Just google something like "wireless diagnostic app/program your platform" and see what comes up.

Hope this helps to get to the bottom of it.

        Cheers Basil
