The process with releasing firmware with cable modems is different than releasing firmware for other products. When Netgear puts out a firmware for a cable modem they first have to send it to the ISP and they make changes and approve it and then push the firmware out themselves to all modems. So what your asking may not be able to be done if Comcast is making it so you can not change those settings.
