Downstream LED flashing

I have the Nighthawk c7000 cable modem router. It was working fine since I bought it in April 2016 until recently. For the past few weeks the downstream green light has been flashing. I restarted and rebooted it several times. I also set it back to factory reset, all of which didn't help the issue. Yesterday night the light finally stopped flashing and was solid green, which I thought the issue was corrected so I marked my first post as having the solution. This morning the light is flashing again. Any ideas on how to correct this?

it means the modem is scanning for a downstream channel I would check with your ISP see if they can look at there tools to see if your levels are off or that something is wrong with the connection.

  • Thank you so much. The cable provider came out today, changed the lines outside because they looked worn, now the light stopped flashing and speeds are back up.
