Is the Netgear CM2000 end of life now?

Just a question if the Netgear CM2000 is EOL now? I am only using it right now as I dont know when Xfinity will roll out mid split. Once they get it going in my neighborhood I will get the CM3000.

Another question is should I not expect any more firmware updates for it?

  • I wouldn't. The CM2050V has been over a year and just starting to get their update rolled out. And that was supposed to be over a year ago. I haven't heard/seen anything about the CM2000. Its unfortunate. I have both the cm2000 and cm3000 and wish the cm2000 would have gotten the update because the hardware is there to support mid-split. but recertification costs $ and they don't invest more in something like that sadly. None of the modem manufacturers do. The Arris S33 and S33v2 is in the same boat

  • I see that sometimes the stock of the modem sometimes goes from being in stock to not being in stock. I would assume that any other firmware would only be bug fixes, or something security related. I have not been able to access the spectrum analyzer on it.

Xfinity never said why the CM2000 never got certified. It would work with other cable operators mid split, probably. Like I said, once they begin work, and my DOCSIS 3.1 channel ID goes from 159 to 193, I will get a CM3000. Are you having the bug where the CM3000 is having a slow interface?
