"see or connect to each other" how? Are you talking about Windows
file sharing, or what?

What is this printer? How is it connected to what? Who can't "see"
it, when you do what?

.With my previous DSL modem/router, all home computers were linked on a private local area network. I could access files on any computer and print to any printer on the LAN (files and printer sharing through windows 10). When I switched to the cable modem/router, C7000 v2, each computer could access the internet, but could not view/access any other resources on the LAN. The only change was switching the modem/router. I can no longer print to the LAN printer or access files on other computers. One printer is hard wired through a USB port on another computer. That computer can print fine. Another printer was connected through an ethernet cable. I can't access that printer either.
When the ISP (Xfinity) activated the cable modem/router, Thre was a question if it should be set up bridge mode. I think they did not use the bridge mode. Could this be the reason?
I do have a Leviton 8 port gigabet ethernet switch to expand the number of ports beyond the 4 on the C7000v2. This appears to work fine and gives computers connected to it access to the internet through the C7000v2. This is the same configuration I used with the DSL modem/router

When you change routers, Windows may see this as a new network
connection, which, by default, would be considered "Public" (as if you
had carried your whole LAN to the nearest coffee shop, and connected it
to that network), and hence file- and printer-sharing would be disabled.
You may need to tell all your Windows systems that their (new)
network connection is "Private".

I doubt it. If the C7000v2 is your only router, then you should
leave it in modem+router mode. In modem-only (bridge) mode, you'd need
to have a separate router (or else only one client device).

"gigabit", but that's fine.- C7000v2_UserSep 23, 2018Aspirant
Any Any Thanks for the response.
When I installed the cable modem, it did create a new network name which was public. I then changed it to private, turned on network discovery, and checked blocked "turn on automatic setup of network connected devices". I had also checked block for "turn on file and printer sharing" on each computer.
Each computer does identify the modem as a connected device but does not show any other LAN assets.. The Netgear "Genie" app shows all connected devices both wired and wireless. All devices still have highspeed internet access. All devices see the modem and the modem see all devices. The devices do not see each other.
I think you are on the right track about it being a LAN setup issue.I don't see any setting in the C7000v2 that would affect LAN setup. The network sharing center in Windows 10 does not indicate any problems with its various troubleshooters (incoming connections, network adapter, hardware and devices.) Any other suggestions?
