MDD message timeout,CM-STATUS Event Type Code: 4, & Unicast Maintenance Ranging timeouts.
Hello, I am NOW having issues with my new (CM2500) mid/high modem.
I've been having latency issues, time outs, disconnects for awhile now, ever since Comcast 'upgraded' the internet in my area. I THOUGHT it was due to SYN floods & DoS's but i was WRONG!
After getting help from a very awesome user here (Shout out to FURRYe38!) I was able to stealth my ports, get a new IP and be fine from that... STILL having the same issues. So, it is NOT the problem with router, it is a problem with the modem & it's connection to ISP. FURRY pointed this out in the router discussion and i did contact Comcast (my ISP) BUT they where un-able to see ANYTHING wrong and did nothing. So, now i am here again, hoping to get some insight.

Anyone see anything wrong with this other than the logs?
Enable Extended Upstream Transit Power is ON, should i turn it off?
I DID contact my ISP again and do have a tech coming on the 12th. HOWEVER, if there is anything I can do on my end or is this a purely ISP problem?
I have until the 11th to return this expensive modem and just rent a dang Gateway from Comcast if nothing fixes this.
Any help or info would be VERY apricated, thank you!
I ended up getting a CAT6 STP cable and an Xfinity Gateway in bridge mode.

Any Criticals, Errors or Warnings seen in the event logs needs to be reviewed and resolved by the ISP. Indicates a signal issue on the ISP line up to the modem.
Have the ISP check the signal and line quality UP to the modem. Be sure the ISP provisions the modem correctly.

Ok, I will make sure they look at ALL the cables going to my home.
Thank you for that websight about the streams and what they need to function poroperly.
I looked at all of mine and it seems my modem is running perfectly fine. So it MUST be a wire somewhere that is the issue and it must be outside my home.
I live in an apt. complex and not in the best place so I'm pretty sure it has to be outside.
Do you think the Enable Extended Upstream Transit Power being toggled ON has anything to do with these issues at all? Could not find info on it. Wondering if i should turn it off.

Did you toggle it on or was it already ON?

When you are looking for Cat 6 cables, go with Cat 6 STP (Shielded Twisted Pair). If you see any, be sure and avoid copper plated aluminum wire. Nothing but trouble.

I ended up getting and Xfinity Gateway with 1000mbps/100mbps. Setting it to bridge mode and useing my RAX54v2 router. I got a CAT6 stp (just checked what I got before posting this, didnt mean to get the right one but did! Lol)
Everything works WONDERFULLY do far lol

Internet search turns up plenty of references that Cat5e cable is capable of 1Gbps data rate, such as this one:

The Ethernet cable connecting ISP modem and customer router is not 100 meters in length. (more like 2 meters)
There is nothing wrong about installing a Cat6 cable. Swapping cables is one of the most frequently suggested troubleshooting steps.
