modem CMD31T not working with Wifi router or ooma

Our current Netgear cable modem CMD31T will not work when connected to a wifi router or ooma VOIP home phone service. The modem seems to only work when connected directly to the PC. I have tried different cables and but only shows flashing orange light, meaning no internet connection. Any help?

    Have you tried to factory reset the unit?

      I did not want ot attempt that just in case it messed with current setup, which it is being used as Cox cable internet directly into computer vai this modem. Would that reset inrupt that service?

        No ti should not affect the service from your ISP.
