Netgear AC1200 Model C6230
Great! My model isn't showing in the drop down list.
Netgear AC1200 WiFi Cable Modem / Router Model C6230 connected to an HP Pavillion 500 PC series model 500-336 running Linux Una 20.3 OS. The file manager is called Nemo.
I've attached a NEW 2 Tb. Toshiba 2.5 drive using a GUID partition table and formatted as NTFS. The drive is in a UGreen case if that's relevent.
When I log in to the Netgear Gateway, I see that it is showing ReadyShare status as READY.
The share name is F_Drive, read access is All - no password, write access is All - no password, folder name F:\, Volume Name is Nebulae, Total Space 1.82 Tb and Free Space 1.82 TB.
I originally had a 1 Tb. drive in that seemed to work from both desktops and my laptop.
Then, I moved, plugged everything in and exchanged the 1 Tb. drive for the 2 Tb. drive listed above. It is showing up properly in the gateway but when I load the file manager and enter smb://readyshare, I get the following error:
Error: Failed to retrieve share list from server: Connection refused
Please select another view and try again.
The only change is the drive itself. Now, the previous 1 Tb. gives the same message.
Any suggestions?

The 1 tb still works?
did you just change out the drive and use the same enclosure or did you buy a new enclosure?

Thank you for replying.
No. I've tried different drives from 120 Gb. up to the 2 Tb. drive. Every one shows up as ready on the home screen. See attached image.
Since my first post:
1. reset the cable modem / router to default settings
2. rebuilt my network, I'll call it Orion_the_Hunter
3. reentered requested ip addresses, mac addresses and device names.
4. moved the computer seven or eight more feet away from the cable modem / router.
I still am not able to access the drive from any device on the network neither desktop nor the laptop.
There is also a problem with machines NOT using the ip address assigned through the Access Control. That's a different problem.Given the number of hours I've spent on this, I'm debating about going out and buying a different brand and taking a hammer to this cable modem / router.

I'm still not clear if you used the same enclosure or not.
Did you format the drive properly?

Instead of taking a hammer to it and having to buy a new router, invest in a cheap NAS enclosure. Much better performance then cobbling together a router based NAS

Was there supposed to be some text in there?
If so, try again, and keep it short and clear. Include only relevant information.
